Recognize New Inductees at Ceremony on November 9, 2014
October 27, 2014 – The Maine Running Hall of Fame (MRHOF) is pleased to announce that six runners and two historic races will be inducted into the MRHOF at it’s 18th induction ceremony on Sunday, November 9, 2014. The ceremony will take place at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland, Maine, beginning at noon. Sponsorships are available for this event. Tickets should be reserved by November 3 and may then be picked up at the door.Tickets will also be available at the door for $25 per person to cover the cost of the buffet luncheon. The MRHOF Board of Directors is pleased to announce its selection of the following individuals for induction into the Maine Running Hall of Fame: Susannah Beck of North Yarmouth, Pauline Kenniston of Westbrook, Matt Lane, previously of Yarmouth, Jerry Levasseur of Brunswick, Sheri Piers of Falmouth and Jim Toulouse of Cape Elizabeth. Two historic races will also be recognized at the Induction Ceremony in November including The Bar Harbor Bank & Trust Half Marathon (37th) on Mt. Desert Island and the Maine Track Club Turkey Trot 5K (46th) that takes place in Cape Elizabeth. These individuals and running events have made significant contributions to the sport of running in Maine.
The Maine Running Hall of Fame (MRHOF) was established in 1988 with the intent to recognize individuals and events that make significant contributions to the sport of running in Maine. An induction ceremony is held every two years. The 2014 MRHOF Board of Directors include Todd Coffin, Rene Collins, Joel Croteau, Anne-Marie Davee, Don Harden, Chandra Leister, Bob Randall, Christine Snow-Reaser, John Stevens and Bob Winn.
